Board Message & Updates – Quarter 2, 2019 By Laura Schick, CVSHRM President
Summer is finally here – woot woot! It also marks the half-way point of 2019, a great time to check-in on how we are doing as an organization. You may recall, the CVSHRM Board met in January for their 2nd annual strategic planning session. We established goals and set the stage for continued growth and increased engagement. In June, we met for our next extended session to review our scorecard and determine what goals are on track and where we need to make adjustments. We also reviewed the recent member survey to assist us with this process. The board thanks you for your input and your continued support as we work hard to develop CVSHRM’s contribution to our members, communities, and the HR profession! BOARD POSITION CHANGES/UPDATES CVSHRM is losing some long-standing board members, Abbi Olson and Lara Riste. Abbi’s job responsibilities are changing, and Lara is relocating out of the Chippewa Valley. Both Abbi and Lara have been assisting the CVSHRM board for several years. We thank them for their dedication, contributions, and support! Good luck to you both! Karla Dickson, who has been serving as interim Director of Member Communications, will be serving out the remainder of Abbi’s term. Katie Walk is returning to the CVSHRM Board in the role of Website Coordinator. Also, Joe Underwood is now CVSHRM’s Networking Group Coordinator. We are so fortunate to have such great talent to assist with each transition and further develop these roles. Welcome and thank you to you all! CONFERENCE NEWS The National SHRM Conference (#SHRM19) is right around the corner! If you are attending, please tag CVSHRM on Facebook – we would love to see posts from our members!
