Chippewa Valley SHRM is excited to offer our members (and their guests) the opportunity to attend a timely and essential program on Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity: Unconscious Bias presented by Alonzo Kelly!

The purpose of the session is to define and understand our role as leaders in creating equity (fairness) and inclusion (belonging) in our workplace organizations and communities. The Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity concepts will go beyond simple matters of Race to include thought, lived experience, and acquired knowledge.

This training is designed as a first step to increasing participant knowledge and ability to communicate on issues of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity. Specific tools utilized in the training include key concepts from ‘Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes are High’, data collected from the US Census Bureau, ‘Danger of the Single Story; Ted Talk’, and other specific skills based techniques taught by the facilitator. The focus will be intentional on how to build authentic relationships within the work environment and greater community through Dialogue. Participants will be able to utilize new knowledge gained with future trainings and learning opportunities specific to Organizational/Community Mission, Vision, Culture, and Values.
