Bio:

Renee Sommer is a WI State Certified Peer Specialist and Founder of At The Roots LLC. Renee has lived experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD, C-PTSD, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and self-medicating. As a sexual assault survivor and member of the LGBTQ+ community, she offers support to the community that is trauma-informed, inclusive, and peer-centered.

For businesses, Renee combines her unique lived experience with her background in HR, business management, and marketing to create meaningful, fun, and forward-thinking training sessions and solutions that help employers adopt realistic, effective, and supportive practices that empower employees and create healthy work environments. With dry wit, full transparency, and vulnerability, Renee pulls back the curtain and cuts through the tough-shell BS so that leaders can connect authentically, learn from lived experience, and make their communities and workplaces safer, healthier places to be.
